Ullambana - Prayer to Ancestor 盂兰盆节

• On this mass prayer event that will take place on August 18th, Master Lu Xia will offer prayers on behalf of all her followers for their ancestors. 
• Attendees may participate in person.
• After prayers, offerings will be distributed to all the participants.
• 8月18日将举行一场大型祈祷活动，届时路侠老师将为她所有的追随者向他们的亲人祈祷。

Ullambana is a day for paying respects and gratitude to ancestors as well as expressing compassion and love for all beings suffering in this world. 

The observance of Ullambana is on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month. 

The origin of Ullambana can be traced back to the account of Venerable Maudgalyayana, a disciple of Buddha, who discovered through his meditative powers that his mother was reborn as a hungry ghost. 

Buddha advised him to make offerings to the Sangha; the merits would help relieve the suffering of his mother and other beings in the realms of misery.

Participate in our yearly Ullambana Puja to express gratitude to deceased loved ones as well as to liberate the sufferings of sentient beings in the three lower realms.

盂兰盆节法会

尊敬的各位信众：

盂兰盆节是一个追思及感念先人的重要日子。盂兰盆节超度法会定在每年的农历七月十五举行。这个节日的起源可以追溯至佛陀的十大弟子之一、“神通第一”的目犍连尊者。他了解到母亲堕入饿鬼道，试图以神通力送食物给母亲，但食物却在母亲一开口时变成火焰，无法下咽。即使凭借他的神通也无法救度母亲，他感到非常伤心懊恼，遂求助于佛陀。

佛陀教导他在七月十五当天用食物供养僧众，以此功德回向给母亲及三恶道的众生。因此，盂兰盆节法会应运而生。

诚邀信众在每年的农历七月十五前于本寺报名登记盂兰盆节超度法会牌位。通过此次法会的功德，我们将回向过往先人、救度三恶道的众生，愿其离苦得乐。
